Haven't Blogged on Here in forever!!

Ok so I haven't blogged forever and so much has happened since the last time I blogged that it would be impossible for me to bring you up to speed!! Not that anyone except cloud nine is watching this blog and she hasn't blogged in forever either so I doubt I am disappointing her....lol. Ok I was reading through my blogs and noticed that I was trying to improve my running and the good news is that I did. I have been running more and I actually am training for a triathalon and will run the Broad St Run(10 miler) in May. Yay for me. I will try to keep up with my blog more often....Oh by the way that's my honey in the picture while I was gone from blogging we got engaged in paris and married!! Yay!

Stuck in Orlando

I came to Florida for 2 reasons to visit my very pregnant sister she is due in 1 month(see pic of us) and to go to a conference for work and now I am stuck in Orlando because of all the rain and snow back up north and I guess I should feel lucky that I am in a better climate however I miss my valentine. Yes today is valentine's day and it is very corny but I am supposed to be curled up with my valentine right now and I am in a hotel room blogging. I guess it could be worst I could be sprawled across some airport chairs trying to get a connection while also trying to get comfortable like many others but I was lucky enough to get a room. I am here on business so it is also good that my company is picking up the tab. Just gotta look at the bright side right?

I have not posted on this blog in a long time, I think it has at least been 3 months and I am embarassed because I said that I was going to blog more this year, I also said that I was going to run more this year and I have been a miserable failure at both. I was constantly do only 3 miles or 3.5 miles everytime I went running so I made a deal with myself that I would run more miles. I started off good and raised my mileage every week until I got to 7 miles. I was going to get a prize at 8 miles and another one at 10 miles. I was going to stop at 10 miles and go back down, my plan was to go up and down from 3 to 10 and do different races depending on the mileage I was doing. It sounded fun to me and gave me goals but I failed I did not get my 8 mile prize(I was suppose to be at 8 by Jan 31st) and I am in danger of not getting my 10 mile prize(I am suppose to be at 10 by Feb 28th). I better get on the ball, I did a 4 mile run around my sister's neighborhood this weekend and it was wonderful. I love Florida weather!! To me it is ideal for running, back home it is too cold and that has been my excuse but I am not going to make anymore excuses I am going to run 8 miles this weekend rain or shine, snow or sleet!! I am going to do it!!! I will write about it when I do.

I am reading the first bio of Barack Obama and I like it....his honesty is refreshing I will write about it when I am finish......

I am not a very good writer but it does amuse me to look back on what I wrote 3 months ago and try to remember how I was feeling. Anyway I am going to end this Blog cause I am tired of typing....

In Vegas for the weekend

ok so I am in vegas this weekend visiting with my goddaughter and usually when I go on trips I go to the hair dresser but I didn't get a chance to before I came here. I certainly tried but it didn't work out with me and my hd so anyway I had a braid out that I was wearing so I just decided to rock it for a few more days. It looks a little wild but I like it. Here is a pic of me and my gd just acting silly....

Ok I started on this blogger thing last week and I have not written much. I actually wanted to document some of my natural hair journey on here as well as other things that I want to write about. Where should I start:

About 5 years ago I decided to stop putting perms in my hair and it started out as just an attempt to see if it would make my hair healthier. With a perm my hair was bone straight and always weak and wimpy. Natural my hair is full and thick and extremely curly. Over the years I have definitely been through different stages with my hair.

When I first chopped it all off I had no idea it would be as short as it was. I was trying to transition but thought that after a year I had enough hair. I was tired of the two textures so my hairdresser twisted it and cut off the stringly ends. When I looked in the mirror I was shell shocked I screamed. Then I cried then I immediately went to get micros in my hair. I just couldn't handle it. After a few months I got them out and was a little more comfortable with my hair and wore it in twists mostly. I wore off and on braids for a while and then when it got long enough i wore a pony puff!!

A pony puff was my permanent hairstyle but I started to find that it wasn't good for my hair to wear it pulled back so much. So I discovered straw sets and two strand twists with my hairdresser so I alternated between them for a while. I also wore my hair straight every 6 months when I would get it straighted so that I could get it trimmed.

Here lately I have been trying to do my hair myself and I have been trying different products and doing braid outs and twist outs. And last month I did a rod set all by myself. I am very proud of my hair and I am looking forward to getting to know it better and caring for it better for the rest of my life. Stay tuned for pics and stuff about my hair journey.....

This picture was taken when I tried to do something by myself with my hair. I braided it and then let it dry and then I took out the braids. I used this stuff called BBD curl creme. This was also my birthday
